Medicare is federal health insurance for people 65+, those under 65 with certain disabilities, or with end-stage renal disease. It covers hospital stays (Part A), doctor visits and outpatient care (Part B), plus optional Part C (Medicare Advantage) plans from private insurers and Part D for prescriptions.
-
You can enroll in Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period (7 months around your 65th birthday) or the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15–Dec 7). Other windows include Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (Jan 1–Mar 31) and Special Enrollment Periods for life changes.
